DEVIL'S RUN Let's get rid of a possible misconception:
There is nothing paranormal about DEVIL'S RUN. The title comes from a real place nearby my home. Run is a
synonym for "creek" (Think Bull Run). Believe it or not, there was once a Devil's Run Community. I don't know if
there was a Devil's Run School, but I'm fairly certain that there was no Devil's Run church.
With
my penchant for double entendre, I wanted to use the place name as a setting for an outbreak of "hellfire" burning
its way through Hawthorn County. If you want to know the obsession that drives the events of this story and wish to discover
the culprit before Richard, Kit, and Guidry do, you must begin with the basics of criminal investigation: establish motive,
means, and opportunity.
